I find myself drawn to figurative work due to my love for individuality. Each human body has a story. Different methods are used to relate to the figure, such as variations in size, materiality, and functionality. Through digital manipulations, I explore different formal elements with double exposures, color manipulations, text incorporation, and handmade elements. The use of different mediums like watercolors, oil paints, photographs, or digital prints can change the perception of portraying a literal figure. An anonymous figure allows for the work to be ambiguous, inviting viewers to relate and project their own interpretations upon the piece. I hope to bring a light to each individuals struggles and identity, all while retaining their anonymity.
